| About Susan A. Seedman
Dr. Susan Seedman is a board-certified general surgeon with specialty training and expertise in breast diagnosis and treatment. She is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Seedman is certified in breast ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and a member of the American College of Surgeons National Ultrasound Teaching Faculty. Sylvia M. Ramos M.D., M.S., F.A. C.S.
Dr. Sylvia M. Ramos has been a board-certified and recertified general surgeon since 1980. She has specialized in the diagnosis, management and surgery of benign and malignant breast diseases since 1995 and for many years was the only surgeon in New Mexico who devoted her practice completely to patients affected by those conditions. She also has had a special interest in the management of lymphedema, especially when it occurs after the treatment of breast cancer. Throughout her career Dr. Ramos has been active in professional and community organizations that address the physical psychological and societal needs of patients with breast cancer including those belonging to underserved and minority populations. Edna Lopez, CFNP
Edna is a graduate of the University of New Mexico Family Nurse Practitioner program. She is board certified in Family practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and has a Masters degree in Nursing. Prior to working with Dr. Seedman, Edna worked in family practice, urgent care, the Emergency room and also did outreach for Healthcare for the Homeless.
Edna works in collaborative practice with Dr. Susan Seedman. She assesses the physical, psychological, and social needs of her patients. Following her assessment, Edna then consults with Dr. Seedman, and together a care plan is designed for the patient with desired outcomes. Edna monitors patient care, and traiges needed services for the patient while ensuring proper access to these services. In addition, she extends help to the family to learn caregiving skills, and patient self-care skills. The desired results are to increase patient satisfaction, reduce the cost of care and to enhance patient outcomes.
